Why Prospect's Properties Need Regular HVAC Care
Prospect sits right on the Atlantic, on rocky granite coastline between Shad Bay and Prospect Bay. It’s a beautiful spot to live. It’s also one of the harder places in the HRM for heating and cooling equipment.
Salt air damages outdoor units
Salt spray settles on heat pump coils and fins near the water. Over time it corrodes metal parts and affects system performance.
Constant wind and fog
Coastal wind drives rain and debris into outdoor units, and fog keeps everything damp. Moisture inside the system brings mold and drain problems.
Heat pumps work hard all winter
Many Prospect homes rely on heat pumps through long winters. Dirty coils and filters make them work harder and raise energy bills.
Older homes often have no ducts
Many older homes along the coast weren’t built with ductwork. They depend on mini-splits that need regular cleaning to maintain peak performance..
New homes need fresh air systems
Newer homes in Prospect Road rely on HRVs for fresh air. A clogged unit quickly leads to stale air and condensation problems.
A small problem can turn into a major costly repair. Regular cleaning and service keep your equipment running longer and your power efficient.
